About Me

My photo
Proud Father Of 2 Kids, started this blog to extend my sharing to benefit more people for positive and fulfilling life, thanks to an advise from a teacher in Special School. Encouragement looks at what we can be and believes in the best for each of us. It is also love in action, allowing one to take time to meditate on small miracles of life, to build confidence in ourselves and build that confidence in others as well.

June Holiday Bliss

June holidays have come to an end as he looks forward to the new Term come 1 July. It had been a fulfilling and enriching one for him balancing between learning and play time.

We had enrolled him on a school holiday program to appreciate golf for a 4 day sessions of 1.5 hrs each during the first 2 weeks of June, it was a great experience for him and being the first timer to participate in such holiday program since he first join the school, we were both delighted & glad that he enjoyed it very much.  With this success, we will continue to take courage & explore such similar programs that are available in subsequent school holiday for him.

In the midst, we also travelled back to my in-law place in Tanjong Sepat, Malaysia to enjoy a short 4 days weekend get away.
It was like a holiday camp to him, with a mixture of playtime with cousins, me time by himself and doing school  home works or practising some work books that we had brought along for him.  He had his hair cut by his auntie too and enjoy the care free, open concept living environment where he can wonder about easily.

It was another enjoyable trip to Malaysia, thanks to the hospitality of my in-laws family..
Father's day card from him and his sister which brought much joy and smile to me, both of which have come this far in their respective learning journey, many beautiful moments converted in the midst of imperfection.  Both have continue to gain strength and confident as their journey progresses.  Also not forgetting to honour their mommy for her support to the family in their upbringing.
There was a haze towards end of week 2 right up to week 3 and even some uncertainties of a return towards last week of the holidays, but has since improved back to almost normality just in time for school reopen..  Many resilience observed but also see many challenges ahead as to how vulnerable our little red dot can be from external influence.  Sometimes, all one needs to do is to look at things from a different perspective, taking constructive actions and be always faithful that things will be alright. I have him to thank for this blessed perspective taking.

The June holiday ended on the dot where I turn 1 year wiser, we had a simple celebration of sing song, blow candles and cut cake, it was a fun filled Sunday.

Look forward to bringing more bi-directional cheers among him and the family as we move forward each day with an open heart.

Term 2 Random Bliss

It has been about 7 weeks since my last blog post, time really flies. term 2 had just ended and we are into the 6th month of the year 2013, the first day of 4 weeks June holidays.
Term 2 had been quite challenging for him with the first ever SA papers in both English & Mathematics.  But I am quite  thankful that he has come this far, very hopeful that he still has potential to maximize results for coming 2 terms with the right support and teaching.
Taken while trying out his new shoes bought by his mommy, he has developed and improved his balance, legs and hands strength, picked up useful jogging, warming up and rhythmic technique from his PE teachers during Term 2.

Sharing one of his activity at home

Very often, he has to work many times harder to compensate his weakness and to close his gaps with his target conditions, the challenge is to strike a critical balance between what he can Vs what he does not want.
I always believe that if he cannot learn the way we teach then we must teach the way he learn. Always review and explore new opportunity to motivate his engagement in learning.

This photo is very special to me when my wife took it and shared with me.   I am sure the value of this moment will be very much appreciated when it becomes a memories in years to come as both grow up. I also look forward to many of such moments from both as we journey on.
We had a family lunch to celebrate Mother's Day with the entire members of 10 altogether, a blissful moment we all cherished and look forward to many more years to give thanks to all our mothers within the family.
He is indeed my fighter, see him for who he is, unique in his own special ability, understand his feeling, accept and love him, embrace his every little effort as he try to make us understand that he is here not to fit into our box but to help us realize that there is no box.
The grand finale of Term 2 ended with a School Sports Day, he truely enjoyed himself and we were blessed to be able to witness the event. Everyone who took part and contributed to this success is a winner and an over comers. Each had shown us that whatever obstacles they may face, the faith in trying to over come them is a critical success factor, kudos to all the students and special educators.  We as parents, have learnt the important values of perseverance, resilient, team work and friendship.  We got him to recall and write a journal about this experience over the weekend..
It was a great Term 2 outing with several new skills learn and challenges unfold as the going get tough, we will just have to keeping going and never give up!

Share a video log from him as he commences his June holidays:-
My June Holidays

It will be more of a mixture of play and school work practice to improve his weakness from his SA1 results.

We just bought him for a swim today after he had completed his homework schedule for the day in mathematics to kick start his own holiday camp.
We will be looking for a short weekend getaway to visit in-laws in KL.
Every soul is beautiful and precious, is worthy of dignity and respect, and deserving of peace, joy and love.

There are also two important dates to look forward in coming months;-
13 July - AVSW Carnival 2013 in his special ed school for a good cause to support employment in the special communities
20 August - Special 10th Anniversary for PCN, we will be thankful and blessed to be part of this great celebration.
